Hosting Your Retreat at Flores
Flores del Camino is a sanctuary for the soul, an authentic hidden gem on the Camino. We are sacred craft practitioners and for us beauty and space matters. Everywhere you turn at Flores you will see beauty; old wooden beams, beautiful stone walls, stunning sacred geometric arts works, carvings and stained glass.
We are dedicated to nurturing a sacred space, one of beauty, so people can rest and replenish, supporting people in activities and the journeys they are on. We are deeply committed to hospitality in its truest form, inviting you to a place that resonates with the sanctity and warmth of feeling at home. Flores is deeply imbued with the spirit of the Camino de Santiago. Located in one of the most beautiful villages in Spain (as voted by National geographic) you will certainly offer your participants a meaningful experience.
In the past we have hosted various contemplative retreats, seminars, writing workshops, theraputic groups, life coach trainings and yoga groups to name a few. Each retreat is unique. We aim to adapt our offer to the needs and expectations of each group.
As experienced retreat leaders, we know exactly what it takes to facilitate a successful workshop / retreat. In hosting you, we take care of everything so you can just focus on what you do best. We are here to support you.
We also offer experiences that can enrich your stay; from half day workshops, time tested visits to exquisite places, from ancient petroglyphs, to visigothic monasteries or an added Camino walk.
We accept groups of up to 14 persons.
A unique location
We are situated approximately 250km east of Santiago de Compostela on a threshold between the meeting of two meaningful landscapes of the Camino Frances; the vast stretches of the meseta plane and the mountains of leon. Soak in the rich history, art, culture and enlivened energy of this land of passage and gift your participants with an unforgettable experience of being on the transformational grounds of the Camino.
The Village
The stone village of Castrillo de Los Polvazares dates back from Celtic times to the 16th century, Castrillo is a heritage site voted one of the most beautiful villages in Spain by National Geographic. Castrillo is beloved for its traditional Maragato architecture, arched wooden doors, and golden-hour glow. Enjoy stunning views at every turn. The warm colours of the stones ; pink orange and red will embrace you. Replenish and recharge in a beautiful environment in harmony with its breath-taking surroundings with vast landscapes and wild paths to explore.
Accommodation
Participants can be accommodated in rooms with private bathrooms, either on site at Flores del Camino or in two charming nearby hotels (about 150m away) that we work in partnership with. We can provide five beautiful rooms with private bathrooms at Flores, some with a balcony with vine, onlooking the church and rural views. The hotels also provide more beautiful rooms with private bathrooms and stunning views of the village.
Food
We are deeply passionate about cooking and provide delicious and healthy meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner with fresh local ingredients served as buffets either in the dining area or in the courtyard under the pergola. Wine is handpicked and local. It is only offered at dinner but we can make it available for lunch at an extra cost if you let us know in advance. We cater for the following dietary requirements: vegetarian, gluten-free, carb-free. Prices for other more specialised diets may vary. Please consult us.
Breakfast: cereals, fresh fruit, yogurts, local honey, nuts, delicious local bread, various Spanish cheeses, jamón.
Lunch example: fresh gazpacho, fresh fish, various local home grown vegetables, olives, salad.
Dinner example: potatoes, grains, grilled chicken, various local grilled vegetables and selection of salads. Fruit or traditional local delicacies for dessert. Local wine.
Retreat Space
The retreat space for your exclusive use includes:
a spacious room equipped with a large table, projector, flip chart, all necessary material for presentations and activities, a sofa area (this room can be adapted for yoga or other movement activities),
a kitchen / dining area with light refreshments at disposal all day (water, coffee, tea, snacks),
a large bathroom for use during activity times,
the use of the atmospheric courtyard with several sitting area under the vine and under the pergola (suitable for activities, meals, chats, rest, etc.),
an adaptable work space (art gallery / workshop) full of beautiful art pieces. Possibly equipped for painting, carving, stained glass, yoga, any kind of group gathering.
In and around the village, there are also several scenic quiet spots ideal for community meetings and exercises.
Pricing
from 145€ per person per day
This price covers accommodation (ensuite single room), food and use of retreat space, per person per day, for retreats lasting between 5 and 10 days and groups of 5 to 14 persons, including facilitator(s) & participants. Add an experience to your retreat: see below.

Add a pilgrimage to your retreat
From experience we know that especially when travelling from afar, participants are eager to taste walking the Camino. An attractive add on to your retreat could be an optional mini pilgrimage. This option has proved a selling point for other groups. One of our most popular offerings includes three days of walking followed by one day of retreat in the Valley of Silence.
Leaving from the doorstep of the retreat centre, you will encounter one of the most beautiful stretches of the Camino, seeped in history, symbol and legend. The walking will be gentle and spacious, at your own pace, yet framed within a story and a structure. Our short Caminos are expertly curated so that your participants can really get the most out of this short time on the pilgrims path and still experience the depth of the Camino journey.

Booking your retreat
Prior to making the reservation, we will establish together the following details by written agreement:
Start date and end date of the retreat
A minimum and maximum number of persons, including yourself, potential other facilitators & all participants. The minimum is usually 5.

Payment schedule & conditions
The payment schedule typically looks like the following:
At the time of making the reservation:
A first deposit (e.g. 750€ for a one-week retreat).
Six months before the start date:
A second deposit (e.g. 1,250€ for a one-week retreat).
Six weeks before the start date:
Confirmation of the actual number of persons, between the agreed minimum and maximum & final payment.
Payments made to us are non-refundable.
Airport Transfer Service
We can arrange private transportation between Madrid airport & the retreat centre: 100€ per person per trip. We use trusted local taxi or coach companies.
