Bertrand Gamrowski (PhD)
Bertrand is co-founder of Flores del Camino and is dedicated to crafting purposeful space for creative and contemplative journeys. He is a passionate educator and retreat facilitator. He has an interest in philosophy and mathematics. He specialises in the use of geometry in Christian art & architecture. He has made a large body of original research relating to the use of geometry in art of the Camino de Santiago soon to be published. He finds joy & fulfilment in teaching & sharing geometry as a contemplative, hands on practise.
Basia Goodwin (MA)
Basia is co founder of Flores del Camino. An artist, educator, Basia is a passionate retreat facilitator. She has a special interest in pilgrimage as a transformational journey & its parallels with the creative & contemplative aspects of sacred art. An alumni of the Kings Foundation School of Traditional Arts, she specialised in the use of geometry in traditional arts, craft & philosophy. In her creative practice & teaching she uses a variety of mediums: ceramics, glass, & natural pigments that she makes using local Camino ocher earths. She is currently co authoring a book on the sacred art of the Camino de Santiago.
Anne Miner - Pearson (MDiv, DMin)
Anne is an ordained Episcopal priest for almost 40 years, serving a number of congregations in the United States. She holds a BA in education as well as seminary & doctorate degrees. She has worked in various spirituality materials, leading individuals & groups through transformational experiences. With deep passion & personal commitment to the spiritual journey for herself & others, her interest in people & what makes “their heart sing” forms a foundation for her retreat leadership style.
Nick Durnan (MA)
Nick has over 40 years experience as a stone mason, carver and sculptor conservator of historic buildings. He originally trained as a stone mason at Canterbury Cathedral in the Uk and stone carving and conservation at the city and Guilds of London Art School. He has worked in many English cathedrals including Exeter, Wells, Salisbury, Rochester, Peterborough and Canterbury. His recent work draws inspiration from the beauty of natural geometric forms and nature.
Clarissa Grandi (MEd)
Clarissa is a geometric artist, author, and experienced teacher. First and foremost an educator, her passion is introducing beginner artists to the truly accessible art of geometry. She delights in sharing her ideas, materials, and techniques with others, and her background in mathematics teaching enables her to demonstrate and explain difficult concepts simply and clearly. In her own artmaking she enjoys exploring the interplay between the precision of human-made geometry and the more organic and chaotic geometries and symmetries found in nature.
Sharon Zeugin (MA)
Sharon is a visual practitioner specialising in graphic recording. She is an experienced calligrapher, artist, educator and retreat facilitator teaching in the USA, Canada, Italy & Spain. She is a faculty member of numerous international calligraphy conferences, and the Austin Contemporary Art School.
Hanna Ward (MA)
Hanna has researched and studied iconography under several masters from Greece, Russia, Romania, Finland and UK. She lectures and teaches in Finland, the UK and is a visiting tutor at the Kings Foundation School of Traditional Arts, the Icon School of Bethlehem in Palestine and joins us once a year at Flores del Camino.
Tom Bree (MA)
Tom is a geometer - artist, teacher and author. He specialises in the use of geometry in sacred art and philosophy and teaches drawing art classes as a form of contemplative philosophy. He teaches at the Kings Foundation School of Traditional Arts in London, the Princes Teaching Institute, The Chalice Well in Glastonbury, the RWA in Bristol and the Education Renaissance Trust.
Christine Barrington (MA)
Christine loves to celebrate people! She fulfils her passion through being a radio show host, psychotherapist and breath work guide, skilfully leading people to their inner dimensions where the greatest treasure lives for each of us.
